Red Coat

TGIF everybody!

I announced on Instagram last weekend that I would be doing a series called “Weekend Edit” every Friday during the fall months. In these blog posts I will be taking a Fall essential piece (top, bottom, or shoes) and styling it two ways: an off duty Saturday and a Sunday brunch look. When I made the announcement on my feed and in my stories, I took suggestions for pieces that YOU wanted to see styled. The first submission was from Tiffany for long coats. Your wish is my command girl!

One of my favorite long coats that I own is this red beauty from J.Crew. But let’s be real here: I NEVER thought I’d own a red coat. Ever. However, when I saw this gorgeous coat in the catalog last year, my heart skipped a beat. I was immediately drawn to it and I had to have it. I was still working at J.Crew at the time but I wasn’t sure if we would be getting this coat in my store come fall. So I went online and pre-ordered it. When the coat came out, my pre-order got back ordered. Nooooo! However, my store received the coat in its fall shipment and I was able to snag the last one in my size…yay!

Although this coat is red, I find myself reaching for it a lot. It’s the perfect pop of color for my otherwise neutral wardrobe. It’s incredibly versatile too. As you can see, I’ve worn it with everything from jeans and a hoodie to a sweater dress. I hope this coat inspires you to add a red coat to your fall wardrobe.
