Happy Tuesday lovelies!

I don’t often talk about my work life on here because I feel like some aspects of my life should remain private. So let’s not talk about work. Let’s talk about work wear! My job allows me to dress rather liberally (aka no dress code) so I can wear whatever I want to work. Most of you are probably muttering under you breath, “lucky bish” or something to that affect. And to that I say, “neener neener”. There are downsides to this, however. I have to pick out an outfit every day. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. And when you work in fashion (and all your coworkers know you have a fashion blog), you have to be on point at all times. The struggle! Also, I live an hour away from where I work so wardrobe changes for dinner dates and blogger meetups are kinda out of the question. So that’s where transitioning my outfits from day to night comes in handy.

For example, here I’m wearing a boiler suit from Abercrombie. Boiler suits and flight suits are super on trend for spring so I highly recommend picking one up. This one was $88 (it also comes in navy blue) but if that price is too steep I’d recommend looking at places like Forever 21 or ASOS for a less expensive one. I dressed it down for daytime with sneakers (I’ve been living in these Air Force Ones lately) and my favorite baseball cap. And to tie in the navy blue from my Yankees hat, I decided to carry my Dior saddle bag. If the sneakers are too casual, a pair of espadrilles or a wedge sandal would be just as chic with this look for the office. The baseball cap is totally optional; I just liked how it looked. Also, if you need more “coverage” or your office is chilly, you could layer a turtleneck or long sleeve tee underneath the jumpsuit and/or throw on a denim jacket. I actually wore this exact outfit to run errands on Friday and I was comfortable all day. It’s only a problem when you have to pee haha.

To go from day to night, I removed the hat, swapped my sneakers for these stiletto ankle boots, and changed to a smaller bag. I don’t know what it is but I love heeled ankle boots with jumpsuits. It’s like they dress it up more or something? But I digress. If ankle boots aren’t your jam, pointed toe pumps (or a strappy sandal as the temps rise) would be fabulous. But it’s February and cold AF right now so we wearing boots okurt. I didn’t have to change the bag here but I like this Fendi baguette bag for night because it can go on the shoulder or you can remove the strap altogether and it’s a clutch. Oh, and did you hear that baguette bags are coming back? Yup, they are! This one is shearling and it’s so soft. I paid retail for mine but if you’re looking to get in on the trend and not spend too much coin I’d look into the resale market. You can find a vintage one on Fashionphile for about $500. I love this bag! She holds all of the essentials and could double as a pillow on the way home after a long night if necessary…sounds like a win win to me!

I kept the accessories the same for both looks. Layered gold necklaces, extra large hoop earrings, and oversized sunglasses. And it wouldn’t be me without my signature red lip! I’m wearing “Idolized” by Color Rich Beauty. It’s a Bay Area black woman owned brand that I’m happy to support. If you have the means, I highly recommend supporting local small businesses in your neighborhood/region because those are the businesses that make our communities great!
