Happy Monday Cocoa Butter Crewe!

I took last week off from the blog as it was a short week with the Labor Day holiday lady Monday. I’m grateful for the time off as it gave me a chance to further contemplate what I want Cocoa Butter Diaries to be going forward. I realized that I want to push myself fashion-wise and be more creative with my photography. One of the things I vowed to try is incorporating more color into my wardrobe. And here we are with this monochrome moment. Yay me!

I bought this green H&M sweater last winter and at the time I wasn’t sure why. I was drawn to it like a moth to a flame when I saw it in the store. But in my head I kept telling myself, “you hate emerald green what is wrong with you”. Seriously though. The ONLY shade of green I own is olive green (which I HIGH KEY LOVE). But I bought it anyway. I wore it with black jeans and my beloved Zara snakeskin boots and it was a hit! Then it lay dormant in my closet. Sigh.

When I was shopping online last week at Zara I saw the most gorgeous green satin skirt. I added it to my cart IMMEDIATELY. I knew it would be perfect to do a monochromatic look because I already had the sweater. This skirt is gorgeous! I already plan to dress it down with my black and white Gucci sweatshirt and white The Attico boots.

Once the skirt arrived, I started thinking about the rest of the look. I knew I wanted it to be more of a fall look with richer tones so I reached for my burgundy Céline belt bag. The shoes were the hardest part. I thought about wearing my ecru Gianvito Rossi booties or my white Dior slingbacks but at the last minute I decided to wear my blue Manolo Hangisi pumps aka the Sex and The City shoes. I plan to wear this look again with the other shoe choices at some point so we shall see how they look when we cross that bridge. You’ll just have to stay tuned to my Instagram to see it!
