Moto Chic
Happy Hump Day, lovelies!
The week is halfway over and I couldn’t be happier about it. It has been a rough week for me but I must press on. I’m grateful to have this blog because it’s a creative outlet that I can use as a de-stressor from all of the corporate craziness of my day job. Working in corporate can be very stuffy sometimes. The set hours and strict dress code don’t help either. This moto chic look would definitely get some serious side eye from my boss – even on casual Friday. But it’s cute so I don’t mind.
What makes this moto jacket so special is that it’s actually made from coated denim – my favorite. It’s super stretchy too so I was able to get an XS in it. Coated denim and the smallest size fits me?? Yaaaas! I purchased this jacket about 3 years ago after seeing it online at Saks. It was pretty pricey since it had just come out so even though I wanted it, I decided to hold off on buying it. I was there to buy my high waisted flares from my Navy: The Other Neutral post anyway. I walked out satisfied that I got my jeans but I couldn’t stop thinking about this jacket. When I finally had the money, I had received an email that the friends and family sale had just started at the 7 For All Mankind retail stores (25 percent off everything). OMG. I called every location to see if they still had the jacket in my size. When I finally found one that did, I dropped everything and headed out there to get it. And I must say that it was worth it. It’s the perfect moto jacket because I can wear it in slightly warmer weather when it’s too hot to wear a leather moto jacket. And I style it similarly to how I would wear a traditional leather jacket. Check out my Leather Love post for leather jacket outfit inspiration.
Isn’t this t-shirt hilarious? I found it at Forever 21 on Saturday while I was waiting for the Mr. to meet me downtown for dinner. Surprisingly this is the first distressed t-shirt that I’ve ever purchased. I think it’s kinda fun not only because of the message but also because of all of the holes. It adds even more edge to this look and I love it. And the styling possibilities for this tee are endless due to its neutral palette.
These grey Topshop jeans are amazing. They’re stretchy, high waisted (important for making you look taller), and they make my tush look incredible – if I do say so myself. I’m also a snob about length and this pair is an ankle jean. Perfect. The frayed hem and the ripped knees also add edge to any look. And since grey is the new black, they’re the perfect alternative to black jeans in this outfit. I wanted to give my black ripped jeans a rest this week too. They’ve been putting in overtime lately.

To accessorize my look, I opted to just wear my everyday jewelry. I could have added some cool midi rings or one statement ring but I decided not to this time around. I already had a lot going on with the zippers, holes, and ripped jeans. I did however want to make a statement with my shoes. Any length of boot (ankle, mid calf, knee high, or over-the-knee) would look fabulous here but given that my jeans were ripped and I wanted the holes to show, I chose ankle boots. I decided to rock my Charlotte Olympia ankle booties that I love because the detail on these babies just completes the moto chic look. And it wouldn’t be me without my red lipstick and Celine sunnies, right?
Now, I must get back to blogging all day. Just kidding. I have work training all day. Coffee please!
Have a great day!
xoxo, CCB
