Happy Wednesday loves!
I hope you all had a safe and wonderful 4th of July holiday. I know I sure did. I slept in, watched a ton of movies, and ate. A lot. It was perfect. Last week, I was supposed to finish up my Summer Staples series but got distracted with other things. I have to get stuff off of my chest from time to time. But there’s no reason why I still can’t finish, right? Here’s my last (but not least) summer staple: the t-shirt dress.
This t-shirt dress was a happy accident. I had seen it online one day and thought it was really cute. Then, when I went into Nordstrom to buy my black and white kimono, I saw the dress on the rack right next to it. I snagged the last one in my size. Yaaaas! I will admit that it was a wee bit shorter than I thought it would be on me but I decided to keep it. The corset top is removable as well so I’ve worn it without the corset and added a fab belt to it. Or I’ve tied a knot in the t-shirt and worn it with boyfriend jeans for an oversized look. Y’all know I love a multitasker.
When I first decided to style this t-shirt for the blog, I didn’t know what shoes I wanted to wear. Then, it finally came to me. Ankle booties. And then I remembered these. They needed a little TLC first at the cobbler and then we were back in business. I’ve worn these one other time on the blog and they just seem to get better with time. Money well spent indeed.
And the finishing touches to this t-shirt dress look are this amazing denim jacket and these gold mirrored sunglasses. At first, I didn’t think I needed an oversized denim jacket. But then I saw this one. Enough said. I’ve worn this jacket just like I do my other denim jacket with the usual suspects (maxi dresses and black denim mostly) and it’s been a fun addition to my closet. And if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen these sunnies before. I don’t wear them a whole lot but I thought they would be really fun with this outfit to add a touch of glam.
I hoped you enjoyed reading my Summer Staples series as much as I had fun creating the content. Let me know in the comments what else you’d like for me to write about. I’m always open to new ideas.
